Lewis R. Hagood (Lhagood@adhknox.com) is the senior partner at Arnett, Draper and Hagood, with his primary areas of practice being labor and employment discrimination law, ERISA, business and civil litigation. He received his JD degree from the University of Tennessee College of Law in 1963, graduating first in his class. During law school, Lewis also served as the Editor-in-Chief of the Tennessee Law Review. He was elected to the Order of Coif and Phi Kappa Phi for academic achievement.
Lewis is admitted to practice in all state and federal courts in Tennessee, the Sixth Circuit as well as the U. S. Supreme Court; and he is a certified mediator in both federal and state court. For a number of years he was a member of and President of the Tennessee Board of Law Examiners. Lewis is a contributing editor for ABA's annual publication "The Developing Labor Law" and is listed in The Best Lawyers in America as well as Who's Who in American Law. Lewis is a frequent speaker on labor and employment discrimination law. He recently authored and presented an Article for a Labor and Employment Symposium sponsored by University of Memphis School of Law, which is published in vol. 29 p. 577 U. of MLR.
Lewis is a member of the Knoxville, Tennessee and American Bar Association, the Tennessee Bar Foundation, as well as various community organizations, including the Knoxville Symphony Society.
