Kim Burnette is a partner with Arnett, Draper & Hagood, where his practice focuses on workers' compensation, product liability, tort litigation and insurance coverage issues. Kim is an East Tennessee native who received his J.D. degree from the University of Tennessee College of Law in 1985, graduating with honors. Upon graduation, Kim served a one year judicial clerkship with United States Magistrate Judge John Y. Powers in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Thereafter, he returned to Knoxville and began his association with Arnett, Draper & Hagood. Kim has been an active member of the Knoxville Bar Association, serving on various committees and projects including chairing its Functions Committee from 1994-1996, serving as chair for the Community Law School from 1997-1999, serving on the KBA Board of Governors from 1997-1999, and co-chairing its Continuing Legal Education committee from 2000-present. He has also coached a high school mock trial team from 1994-2000. Kim has also served as a member on the Tennessee Bar Association Continuing Legal Education Committee from 1998-present. He was also a charter member of the Knoxville chapter of the American Inns of Court from 1988-1991. Kim has also served as a seminar presenter to both professional and community groups on issues involving tort liability, workers' compensation, trial procedure and advocacy.
